It's Veterans Day! How are you going to honor the veterans today?
By remembering; or at least, by not forgetting the sacrifices made not so long ago.
Well, I take this as permission to be officially excited for Up.
Also, the first teaser trailer in full-screen. Slightly more enthralling than the tiny Youtube version, though even that had me smiling dreamily.
And while I'm being excited about upcoming movies...
Henry Selick and Neil Gaiman all at once, oh my! Blue hair notwithstanding, it looks like it ought to be decent, though I don't really expect it to match the book in terms of creepiness. That's not even quite the right description of it, really. Neither is 'sinister'. Find a way to describe Mr. Gaiman's way of saying 'buttons for eyes', and you've got the tone of Coraline.
What were you afraid of when you were younger that seems silly to you now?

I was afraid of heights. Sliding down the pole at the park, jumping off the barn foundation in my backyard into a mound of snow...well, that one's still valid actually.
Dinosaurs. I blame Jurassic Park. Although I did have a dinosaur hiding under my bed for a while...but he was blue, and he scared my sister, so we were friends. I was also a little afraid of deer. Those things could trample you in a second! And earwigs crawling into my ears, laying eggs, and using my body as food for their young. I still need to sleep with something covering my ears.
Oh, I was also afraid that my parents and sister were aliens, and that I had been captured and was being studied every minute of the day. I was terrified that at any moment, my parents would lose their disguises and try to eat me. My little sister was always trying to eat me anyway. I still have nightmares about her sometimes. D:
And that's only the very tip of a very large underwater volcano. Ah, well. At least my level of paranoia has gone down lately. My fears are way more sane these days (only not...but at least I know it now). :D
What is the one word that perfectly describes your day today?

Toilsome.
Schools are coming closer to starting once again, any particular memories/thoughts associated with this time of year? Submitted by Chuck
Mostly it's 'New episodes of Pushing Daisies!' time. I'm trying not to think about school, because it's my last year, and I have no idea what I'm doing next year. And I need to know by...well, early September, really, and December at the latest. D:
Show us something you want, but would never spend the money to buy.
*sigh* This is just far too easy...
All the rest of the series, and then about a dozen other books. Probably more. Oh, and then I'd take a trip to India with my friend, and it would be amazing.
Hm. At least that last one is probably actually happening at some point. We might have done it next year, only I'd still be too young for the tour, and she's already made plans to go to Italy. Ah, well. Perhaps I can convince my parents to take us to England for Guy Fawkes. That would be so fantastic.
